Expect Heavy Traffic Delays
ATLANTA, GA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors install lane closures on Interstate 75 (I-75) this weekend to begin a resurfacing project from the I-75/I-285 interchange in Clayton County to SR 54/University Avenue in Fulton County. Resurfacing improves the roadway's deteriorating condition, preserving its lifecycle, eliminating holes and cracks, and providing a smoother ride for drivers.

  • Three right lanes will be closed on I-75 northbound between C W Grant Parkway and University Avenue, and the following ramps closures:
    • I-75 to I-85 northbound traffic will detour to SR 166 CD ramp to access I-85 northbound
    • The I-75 northbound exit ramps to SR 166/Langford Parkway (exit 243) and Cleveland Avenue (exit 241) will be closed, traffic detoured to University Avenue (exit 244)
6 a.m. on Sunday, October 6 until 5 a.m. on Monday -
  • Three right lanes will be closed on I-75 southbound between University and C W Grant Parkway, and the following ramp closures:
    • The University Avenue entrance ramp to I-75 southbound will be closed, traffic detoured north to Fulton Street/Central Avenue (exit 246).
    • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to SR 166/Langford Parkway (exit 243) will be closed, and traffic detoured to Cleveland Avenue (exit 241) .
This $46 M projectis scheduled for completion in summer 2025. Lane closures help ensure safety for workers and drivers.
