Serbia's internal trade group work begins

Serbia has started its working groups to improve some aspects related to internal trade in the country

The European project in support of Serbia's internal market (EU4IM) has started its working groups to improve some aspects related to internal trade in the country, namely consumer protection, e-commerce and the single window.

This type of group work is one of the governance structures of the European EU4IM project and represents an innovative experience that seeks to broaden the operational dialogue between the project and Serbian partners to a more strategic dialogue. Through these working groups it will be possible to analyse the actual or potential contribution of the project's actions to Serbia's progress in the negotiation process for its accession to the European Single Market in the topics that concern the project, in this case: consumer protection, e-commerce and the single point of contact or one-stop-shop for some transactions with the administration.

The project, led by the FIIAPP from Spain, in collaboration with the Slovak Agency (SlovakAid, SAIDC) and the Italian Agency (AICS) for development cooperation, works in eight key areas of intervention for entry into the Single Market: Competition, State aid, market surveillance, product quality infrastructures, consumer protection, e-commerce, one-stop-shop, and intellectual property rights.

Given that the areas share cross-cutting elements, different expert working groups will meet every two months to assess the relevance and impact of the contribution that EU4IM makes or could make to the negotiation process.
