Richard J. Daley College has been selected to participate in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' (HACU) prestigious VOLARÉ Institute. The yearlong program for Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation and provides opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and growth in STEM fields at HSIs nationwide. Its goal is to build a new generation of STEM research leaders.
As a participant of the VOLARÉ Institute, Daley will engage in a series of activities designed to build the college's research capacity and strengthen its ability to compete for research-based funding. The college will also have access to mentors and workshops on best practices for implementation.
Participation in the VOLARÉ Institute represents a major step forward for all of City Colleges as it continues to expand opportunities for students and faculty in STEM fields. City Colleges is proud to be part of this effort to elevate the research enterprise at HSIs and contribute to a more inclusive national research system.
