SPURWINK ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER

PORTLAND, ME - Spurwink is pleased to announce Amanda Karomba has been appointed to Spurwink's Board of Directors, bringing with her a wealth of experience, including seven years of dedicated service in her current role and a decade-plus history of supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and Autism.

Karomba currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Happy Haven, which provides direct support to Maine adults with intellectual disabilities. As Karomba states, "the journey to her current position in the United States is a testament to her resilience and determination." She and her family immigrated to the U.S. in 1995, seeking refuge after surviving the events of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Today, Amanda has a mission rooted in giving back to the community and strives to create jobs and empower fellow New Americans to leverage their skills and talents.

"We are thrilled to welcome Amanda to our Board of Directors," said Eric Meyer, President & CEO of Spurwink. "Her unwavering dedication to her work, community, and the pursuit of a better future for all is a source of admiration and motivation, and we are fortunate to have her expertise."
