The university is excited to announce that a total of 2,390 students - part- and full-time undergraduate and graduate students - chose to find their bold at Augustana for Academic Year 2024-25. Hailing from 41 states and 54 countries, the number marks the largest ever student body at Augustana.

The student body includes 2,003 total undergraduates - the largest overall undergraduate headcount at Augustana in 34 years. AU also set a record for the overall number of graduate students in the university's history with 387, thanks in part to the university's first doctorate program - the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). A total of 533 full-time first-year students chose to find their bold at AU - a 18% increase from last year.

"The consistent enrollment growth Augustana has experienced the past four years is the result of the many ways the university continues to evolve and innovate. By adding new academic and competitive club athletic programs, as well as deepening our commitment to affordability, we've been able to reach a broader range of students from across the globe. When students step on our campus, they see a growing, vibrant community with new and refreshed facilities that they are excited to call home," said Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Adam Heinitz '99.

AU is home to a total of 250 international students, including 79 new international students this fall. The top countries students are coming from include Ethiopia, China, Nepal, Brazil and Canada.

"Our international student population continues to grow, with this number exceeding last fall's record-breaking cohort by 35 students. We are honored that students from around the world have chosen Augustana," said Co-Director of the International Programs Office (IPO) Heather Edmunds Reed.

The top majors declared by Augustana students include nursing, biology, business administration, psychology, exercise science, finance, elementary education, computer science, accounting and marketing.

The number of first-year students from Fall 2023 returning to Augustana for Fall 2024 is 85.5% - the third highest retention rate in the university's history.
