Gresham Police Department celebrate the third annual Dog Days of Summer event

Get ready for a pawsome day of fun at the third annual Dog Days of Summer event, hosted by the Gresham Police Department on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Gresham City Hall, 1333 Northwest Eastman Parkway. This free community event will have something for every dog lover-humans and pups alike!

In addition to thrilling K9 demonstrations from police units across the region, this year's event offers a special treat: the chance to meet comfort dogs from around the metro area! These sweet and supportive canines are here to help, and you'll have the opportunity to take individual photos with them during designated time slots.

Featured comfort dogs include:

• Remi from Beaverton, photos at 10:30 am
• Burton from Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, photos at 11:00 am
• Tagg from Gresham, photos at 11:30 am
• Onyx from Tualatin, photos at 12:00 pm

Be sure to stop by the photo booth to capture your special moment with these amazing comfort dogs and take home an autographed photo of your favorite Gresham Police dog.

This year's event will also feature exciting K9 demonstrations from local police units, including Gresham, Oregon City, Gladstone, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, and Lake Oswego. Watch these skilled K9s show off their incredible abilities.

Timeline of Events:

• 10:00 - 10:20 am: Welcome and introductions, including a spotlight on Tagg, Gresham Police Department's comfort dog.
• 10:30 - 11:30 am: Presentations from Guide Dogs for the Blind, Working Dogs of Oregon, Valley View Canine, Scoop Soldier, Oregon Dog Rescue and more.
• 11:30 am: Demos from local bomb and arson dogs.
• 12:00 pm: K9 demonstrations from the East Metro K9 Training Unit.
