Samantha Berry Named Glamour's First Global Editorial Director

Condé Nast today announced the appointment of Samantha Barry as Glamour's first global editorial director. In this new role she will oversee all content strategy for Glamour across the brand's global editions in Germany, Mexico and Latin American, Spain, UK, and the U.S. Barry has been the editor in chief of Glamour U.S. since 2018 and in 2021 became Americas editorial director.

Under Barry's leadership as editor in chief of Glamour U.S., the iconic women's title has transformed into a digital-first brand while growing its audience and engagement, in addition to video and commerce capabilities. During her tenure, she has evolved the annual Women of the Year Awards into a global celebration that champions Glamour's diverse community around the world. Glamour's award-winning journalism continues to advocate for women with campaigns including The Time to Pass Paid Leave Is Now and 2024 Election: What's at Stake for Women.

Barry continues to produce powerful features and interviews for the brand. Over the last year alone, she traveled to Malawi with Amal Clooney, Melinda Gates and Michelle Obama for a special report on their fight to end child marriage. She also sat down with Sophia Bush for an intimate, newsmaking conversation and, most recently, she brought together the mothers of the world's biggest superstars: Tina Knowles, Donna Kelce, Maggie Baird, and Mandy Teefey. Salma Hayek, Lupita Nyong and Serena Williams have all recently graced the cover under her direction.

Prior to joining Condé Nast, Barry served as executive producer at CNN where she ran the global social and emerging media teams. She serves on the advisory board of Goals House and Room to Read. Barry recently received an Honorary Doctorate from Ulster University.

Glamour U.S. will host its 34th annual Women of the Year event on October 8 in New York City, followed by Glamour Spain on November 6, Glamour Germany on November 12, and Glamour Mexico & Latin America on November 13. Glamour UK kicked off the global celebrations on October 1.
