Marquette and Hamilton Parks newest parks to host Girls Day of P.L.A.Y.
The Chicago Park District is excited to host another Girls Day of P.L.A.Y., where girls are encouraged to engage in exciting activities, interact with peers, and stay active on a Chicago Public Schools Day of non-attendance. Marquette Park, located in the Chicago Lawn community area, and Hamilton Park, located in the southeast corner of the Englewood community, will host Girls Day of P.L.A.Y. sessions for the first time.
Girls Day of P.L.A.Y. takes place at at 20 neighborhood parks on Friday, September 27, 2024. Most sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a few locations offering programming until 4:00 p.m.
Highlights during this session include sip and paint with Pinot's Palette, a Logan Square arts and entertainment partner, swimming, pumpkin decorating, and line dancing at Kosciuszko Park. Meanwhile, Mann Park will feature cardio kick boxing, woodshop, yoga and pool volleyball. Though both Mann and Kosciuszko Parks filled all available registration spots for this session, there are still many vacant spots available to girls citywide at other park locations. Interested participants should register at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/girls-play.
