Travel AUTHS Now Submitted Through Tenth Circuit eVoucher

The Tenth Circuit is implementing a new procedure for CJA attorneys appointed in Tenth Circuit appeals who need to travel either for oral argument or to meet with their clients.

ORAL ARGUMENT

The Tenth Circuit's standard oral argument notice will continue to be docketed in appeals, but the Clerk's Office will no longer docket travel authorizations for CJA counsel. Instead, effective September 1, 2024, CJA counsel in Tenth Circuit appeals will request and receive travel authorizations via eVoucher. Oral argument notices issued on or after September 1, 2024 will include a new section instructing CJA attorneys to log into their eVoucher account and create a travel AUTH in order to receive authorization to book airfare through National Travel. Travel bookings will only be allowed once the court has approved the travel AUTH in eVoucher. This office will also be calling CJA counsel to assist with the completion of the travel AUTH when oral argument has been scheduled.

CLIENT VISITATION

Motions for permission to travel to meet with a client will no longer be docketed. Counsel will be required to file a travel AUTH using eVoucher. This is only required for travel that requires airfare and/or overnight lodging.

Instructions for how to complete a travel AUTH in eVoucher can be found here eVoucher (uscourts.gov) . Please do not hesitate to call the Circuit CJA staff with any questions or concerns.
