The Galveston County Daily News and the Brazoria County Facts recently shared lists honoring individuals in their respective regions who are 40 years of age or younger and demonstrate notable personal and professional success, along with a commitment to the communities in which they live and work.

For the Galveston County Daily News annual 40 under 40 listing, a panel selected the top individuals from the area, including six professionals from UTMB:

· Amanda Blair, trauma program manager, UTMB League City Campus;

· Samantha Miro (Seale), manager of strategy and communications with the UTMB School of Nursing;

· William Pate, associate vice president for Environmental Health & Safety and adjust assistant professor in the School of Public and Population Health;

· Dr. Hannah Peterson, assistant professor and provider with the Department of Pediatrics;

· Sruti Rachapudi, medical student and founder of the Vision Screening Program at St. Vincent's Clinic;

· Quincy Seigel, intern with the UTMB Department of Internal Medicine.

UTMB Health Outpatient Nurse Manager Vanessa Gutierrez was among the recently celebrated honorees recognized as a Leader Under 40 by Brazoria County's The Facts.

"What an honor and privilege to have so many of our own represented among so many other notable names and figures from the region," said Dr. Jochen Reiser, UTMB President and CEO of the UTMB Health System. "While our mission and work extend far beyond the local communities we serve, it all starts right here, making a difference in our own backyard. Congratulations to each of these honorees on this achievement."
