Professor Emerita Harada receives honor from Government of Japan

On Nov. 3, 2024, the Government of Japan announced that Hiroko Harada, professor emerita at the University of Alaska Anchorage and chair of the Anchorage Sister City Commission, has been awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Rosette, in recognition of her distinguished service in promoting the Japanese language in the United States and in contributing to the amicable relations between Japan and the United States.
