Success for Leidos at the Australian Aviation Summit and Awards

Set against the backdrop of innovation and advancement in aviation, the Aviation Summit brought together industry leaders, innovators and enthusiasts for an unparalleled exchange of ideas and insights.

A number of people from Leidos played a key role with Chief Executive Leidos Australia and Asia Paul Chase opening the summit, speaking on the importance of growing the next generation of Australia's pilots, the challenges of operating aviation business in remote regions of Australia, and the opportunity for industry collaboration to help shape the future of aviation in Australia.

Leidos Australia Head of Flight Operations Jesse Young took part in a panel discussing the strategies needed to overcome the existing shortage of aviation professionals and attract new talent, and VP Airborne Solutions James Woodhams was the Moderator on a panel sharing insights about Australia's drone revolution.

Leidos Pilot wins 'Young Pilot of the Year' at the Australian Aviation Awards

Leidos DHC8 First Officer Yasemin Cencik won the Young Pilot of the Year Award.

Congratulations to Leidos Australia DHC8 First Officer Yasemin Cencik, winner of the Young Pilot of the Year Award at this year's Australian Aviation Awards.

The Young Pilot of the Year Award recognises the young pilot who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to building a successful career as a pilot. It considers the activities, strategies and actions taken to create a point of difference to positively contribute to the development of their specific industry discipline and has demonstrated the potential for rapid career progression.

Yasemin was nominated for the impact she has made right through her amazing career, which has now culminated in her conducting special missions on behalf of the Australian Government as a First Officer with Leidos Australia. Yasemin has a strong desire to help represent and showcase the opportunities that are available for women and people of all types of backgrounds and minorities to encourage them to pursue their dreams, if they too wish to become pilots.
