Jackson County Roads will be in town on August 5-6. They have graciously agreed to do a chip seal project for us that includes Main Street, Loto Street, Platt Avenue and Lorraine Avenue. The County does projects of this nature for municipalities at a greatly reduced cost over private contractors, which is very beneficial when spending tax payer dollars. This project will affect traffic patterns on the aforementioned roads during the prep work and chip seal process. The work should be completed with a partial day of prep on Monday August 5^th and a half to full day of work on Tuesday August 6^th. We ask that these areas be avoided on August 5^th and 6^th as much as possible with no on street parking, this will allow the work to be completed without delays for the workers or from blocking in any parked vehicles during their work.
