The University of Missouri Police Department (MUPD) recently released its 2024 Annual Fire Safety and Security Report. The report contains valuable information that reflects the MUPD's strong commitment to protect the community, prevent crime and provide resources to victims.

MUPD Chief Brian Weimer said campus safety is a collaborative effort, and his department works closely with campus partners to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty and staff.

"A safe campus can only be achieved through the cooperation of everyone in our community," Weimer said. "We are committed to enforcing the law and upholding Mizzou's policies to proactively address issues and prevent crime from occurring on our campus."

The report contains three years of crime statistics related to incidents that occurred on Mizzou's campus, in certain off-campus buildings or properties owned or controlled by MU, and on public property immediately adjacent to campus. It also includes institutional policies related to campus security, such as those regarding alcohol and drug use, and sexual assault.

Statistics for the report are gathered from MUPD, the Office of Institutional Equity, Residential Life, the Office of Accountability and Support as well as information provided by campus security authorities. The report is released in compliance with provisions of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
