Florida Public Utilities Company and Florida City Gas Prepare for Tropical Storm Helene

Fernandina Beach, Florida - Florida Public Utilities Company (FPU) and Florida City Gas (FCG), subsidiaries of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, continue to monitor projections for Tropical Storm Helene in Florida and are prepared to respond if the storm impacts our service areas.

FPU and FCG have adjusted Company staffing and are preparing electric, natural gas and propane personnel in Florida and in service areas outside of Florida to respond to any potential service interruptions that may result from heavy rain and high wind gusts.

FPU customers should report service interruptions or gas emergencies at 1.800.427.7712 or online at www.FPUC.com/ReportOutage.

FCG customers should report service interruptions or gas emergencies at 1.888.352.5325.

For storm updates and additional safety information, please visit our websites at fpuc.com or floridacitygas.com.

Should the storm impact our customers, the restoration priority plan calls for initial restoration to critical community infrastructure, such as public health and safety organizations. Restoration efforts will begin when conditions are safe to do so.

It is important that customers who use critical medical equipment take necessary steps to prepare for the storm and have appropriate back-up battery support in the event of potential outages. If you or a member of your family is disabled and may need assistance during storm evacuation, call your Emergency Management Agency office.
