Overnight detours scheduled at Colonial Life Boulevard/I-126 Interchange

​Columbia, S.C. (June 26, 2024) - Starting tonight, the South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct two consecutive nights of temporary overnight closures of the existing I-126 ramps at Colonial Life Boulevard.

Drivers will be detoured using the Greystone Boulevard/Riverbanks Zoo interchange at I-126.

The full detour schedule is as follows:

· Wednesday, June 26, to Thursday, June 27, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

· Thursday, June 27, to Friday, June 28, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The closures will allow SCDOT to conduct paving activity at the Colonial Life Boulevard interchange as part of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

Signs will be posted to direct motorists through the detour route. Drivers may experience temporary slowdowns and stops in traffic and are advised to use caution, plan accordingly, and follow posted instructions. A map of the detour can be found below.
