Turn Lane Project on Covington Road Suspended Until Spring

Work on the northbound Covington Road turn lane is on hold until the spring of 2025 due to poor subbase materials and underground water affecting the stabilization of the subbase. Crews are installing a 3-foot rock shoulder and letting it sit over the winter instead of paving the turn lane. The shoulder will allow for safe travel on Covington Road and help stabilize the base for paving in the spring. This change in the project does not affect traffic. Notice will be sent when the project resumes in the spring.
