Senator Hassan Joins Marine Patrol for Ride-Along on Lake Winnipesaukee

GILFORD - U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan participated in a ride-along with New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol on Lake Winnipesaukee yesterday. The Marine Patrol is the primary boating law enforcement agency in the state of New Hampshire and is responsible for boating safety and enforcement of boating laws on public bodies of water.

"It was a privilege to join the NH Marine Patrol and see firsthand their important work to help protect Granite Staters," said Senator Hassan. "The NH Marine Patrol is an indispensable part of our state's law enforcement, and I am grateful for everything that they do to keep New Hampshire's lakes and waters safe."

Marine Patrol Officers patrol the entire state, protecting public safety and responding to calls for service. Marine Patrol officers regularly patrol 265 of the 975 public bodies of water in New Hampshire. In 2023, Marine Patrol officers responded to 1,911 calls for service, investigated 41 accidents, and conducted 53 water rescue calls.
