Free e-waste recycling event this weekend

Zero Waste Sonoma and Conservation Corp North Bay are hosting free electronics collection events today through Sunday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rohnert Park Community Center, 5401 Snyder Lane in Rohnert Park.

No appointment necessary for these events. All events will be held in the parking lot. Accepted items include working and non-working TVs, office equipment, cell phones, tablets, microwaves, printers, computers, laptops, stereos, game consoles, cords and more. Appliances, batteries and fluorescent lamps are not accepted.

A free mattress recycling event is also happening on Saturday, Sept. 14. Clean and dry mattresses of any size, box springs and futons are accepted. Limit of three units per vehicle, per day. Soiled or wet mattresses, futon frames or bedding are not accepted.

Mental Health "Connection is Prevention" event Sept. 21

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, half of American adults struggle with loneliness. That's why Sonoma County's "Connection is Prevention" initiative is so important. Social connections can play a key role in preventing mental health challenges.

Join Sonoma County Department of Health Services and community-based organizations for a free event to promote mental well-being through meaningful and fun interactions on Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Cloverdale Plaza, 122 N. Cloverdale Blvd., Cloverdale.

October community workshops on airport traffic study

The Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport will hold two community workshops to share important findings from a recent study on air traffic patterns, safety and noise:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Analy High School gymnasium, 6950 Analy Ave., Sebastopol, 6-8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 3, Vinters Resort, 4350 Barnes Road, Santa Rosa, 6-8 p.m.
