Lane restrictions on Bayly Street in the Town of Ajax

Whitby, Ontario - The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Bayly Street (Regional Road 22) in the Town of Ajax.

When: July 8 through August. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: Lane restrictions will be in place on Bayly Street, from Church Street South to 500 metres east of the intersection of Bayly Street and Church Street South, in the Town of Ajax.

Why: To safely install a new centre median island on Bayly Street, regrade and install a new multi-use path along the north boulevard, and to extend the right turn lane to accommodate a proposed entrance for westbound traffic. On the south side of Bayly Street, a new turn lane will be constructed for the existing entrance into Volkswagen Canada.

Note: The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
