Lane Closure Notice - Viking Road (From Walmart Drive to Prairie Parkway)

Beginning the week of September 30, 2024, the City-hired contractor (Owen Contracting, Inc.) will start the lane closure required for Stage 1B of the Viking Road and Prairie Parkway Intersection Improvements Project. Stage 1B includes the grading work for the southern half of the roundabout that will be reconstructed next construction season. This grading work is being completed ahead of next year to allow time for utility relocation.

For the contractor to perform this work, the outside lane will be closed along Viking Road (for eastbound traffic), between Walmart Drive and Prairie Parkway. This work is anticipated to take approximately seven (7) weeks to complete, weather permitting. As this project continues into Stage 1B and 1C, different lane closures can be expected and will be announced at that time. During this construction season, no work is anticipated to require a full road closure on Viking Road. Below you will find a map of the lane closure for Stage 1B.
