October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Recently, Mayor Nick Long issued a proclamation declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in League City.

Mayor Long presented the proclamation to Jessica Mullin from the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County and to representatives of Bay Area Turning Point.

Later this month, on October 24 at 7 p.m., there will be a candlelight vigil for survivors and families of domestic violence at the police department located at 555 West Walker Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of hygiene products to provide to local shelters.
