U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $3 Million for Transportation Infrastructure Improvements to Support Increased Commercial Capacity in Nampa, Idaho

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3 million grant to the city of Nampa, Idaho, for transportation infrastructure improvements needed to facilitate increased commercial capacity in the region.

This grant will support the expansion and widening of Northside Boulevard, and the installation of infrastructure including streetlights and sidewalks, curb ramps and more. This EDA investment will be matched with $3.1 million in local funds and is expected to create 244 jobs and generate $140 million in private investment, according to grantee estimates.

"The Biden-Harris Administration's Investing in America agenda is a commitment to ensuring that communities in Idaho and across the country have the resources they need to expand economic opportunity," said Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo."This EDA investment will ensure that Nampa has the infrastructure needed to grow local businesses, attract new businesses, and create good-paying jobs in the region."

"This investment will provide the city of Nampa with the foundation to attract new businesses and residents, helping to diversify the local economy."
