Cole County Route D to close for bridge deck replacement…

North Moreau Creek Bridge scheduled to close for 60 days beginning Aug. 12

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo - The ColeCounty Route Dbridge overNorth Moreau Creekis scheduled toclose mid-Augustfor a bridge deckreplacement project. Construction crews,working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close the bridge to all trafficbeginning the morning of Aug. 12.

Built in 1965, the supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition. However, the driving surface has deteriorated, is in poor condition, and needs to be replaced.The bridge is expected to reopen mid-October. By contract the bridge can be closed upto60 days. Throughout the closure, asigned detourwill be in placedirectingmotorists to use U.S. Route 50, Missouri Route 179, and Cole County Route C.

At their February 2024 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $859,429.95 contract toGene Haile Excavating, Inc.to complete thiswork.All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
