Expo 2025 Osaka. Deputy Prime Minister Tajani and Archbishop Fisichella sign agreement to host the Holy See at the Italian Pavilion

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani and Archbishop Rino Fisichella, pro-prefect of the Section for Fundamental Questions regarding Evangelisation in the World, signed today at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs a Memorandum of Understanding governing the Holy See's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka inside the Italian Pavilion and the collaboration between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Dicastery for Evangelisation.

"The agreement, allowing for the first time to host the Holy See in the Italian Pavilion during a World Exposition, testifies to the excellent state of bilateral relations between Italy and the Holy See," said Tajani, who underlined Italy's support for the Holy See's efforts to organise the Jubilee 2025 and its international role.

The Holy See will take to Osaka the "Deposition of Christ", one of Caravaggio's most renowned masterpieces, and will have a dedicated space to organise cultural events and important art exhibitions, in cooperation with the Dicastery for Evangelisation.
