KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University and our local community have several events in place to celebrate the holiday season.
KU Presents: Mandy Gonzalez Home for the Holidays (w/ KU Choir)
- Friday, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m., Schaeffer Auditorium (Tickets)
Mandy Gonzalez possesses one of the most powerful and versatile contemporary voices of our time. Starring on Broadway in "Hamilton" as Angelica Schuyler and Elphaba in "Wicked," she is perhaps best known for creating the role of Nina Rosario in the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical "In the Heights." Home for the Holidays features all-time favorite seasonal songs as only Gonzalez can deliver. Paired with the voices of the KU Choir and Berks Youth Chorus, this musical journey is a vibrant celebration of diversity, identity, friendship and the universal power of music to unite us all.
Christmas on the Farm

Christmas on the Farm features live music in the barnyard, traditional crafts, folklife demonstrations, hearth-cooking, live animals, children's activities and more. Indulge your interest in regional folk culture at a celebration of the holiday season and Pennsylvania German Christmas traditions. Located on the historic Sharadin Farmstead, the event is free, fun and educational for the whole family.
Christmas at the Fairgrounds
- Saturday, Dec. 7, noon to 7 p.m., Kutztown Fairgrounds
- Sunday, Dec. 8, noon to 5 p.m., Kutztown Fairgrounds
Celebrate the holidays at the Kutztown Fairgrounds with pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus; horse-drawn carriage rides; Kutztown Area School District Art Show; shopping with vendors; food trucks; local musicians; cookie decorating; letters to Santa; Christmas cards for local manor; and fire pits and s'mores.
KU Arts Society Gala Holiday Party
- Saturday, Dec. 7, 7-9 p.m., The Publishing House, 243 West Main St., Kutztown, Pa.
The Kutztown University Arts Society cordially invites you to a holiday party to celebrate the spirit of the season. All proceeds benefit the K-12 Kids Summer Art Camps and KU Presents Family Series. An evening of art, music and holiday spirits. Raffles for original artwork by local artists Rick Salafia and Jeff Dietrich, jewelry workshop with Doug Wunder, art camp scholarships, piano lessons with Maria Asteriadou, dinner at La Maya and more. Shop with our alumnae vendors Amanda Seanor, Hadley Wiktor and Madison Evans. Pop-up shops of permanent jewelry and local folk store artists, as well as a Winter Wonderland Workshop for kids 8-and-up from 7-9 p.m. Event includes hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and music by the KU Jazz Trio. Fancy festive holiday attire is encouraged. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for the Children's Workshop and can be purchased online.
