Arrest Made and Stolen Car Recovered in Ongoing Auto Burglary Investigation

Madison Precinct officers Wednesday at 3 a.m. spotted a blue Kia Optima on Anderson Lane at Snow Avenue that matched the description of a vehicle used in multiple auto burglaries. After officers confirmed that the car had been reported stolen in Nashville on Monday, they attempted to stop the Kia but the driver fled.

The car continued to travel onto Dickerson Pike where an East Precinct officer successfully deployed spike strips. The Kia turned into the Fallbrook Apartments, 345 Dellway Villa Road, where it crashed into building F. The occupants fled on foot.

Marquez Reed, 18, was taken into custody. The other suspects eluded capture. Reed is charged with theft of a vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and evading arrest. He is being held in lieu of $46,000 bond.

The investigation continues into identifying the other occupants of the car and their suspected involvement in auto burglaries.
