Police appeal for information after assault at Cobar racecourse

Police are appealing for information following an assault at a racecourse in the state's northwest.

About 5pm on Saturday 5 October 2024, emergency services were called to a rodeo event held at a racecourse on Louth Road, Cobar, following reports two men were involved in a fight.

Officers attached to Central North Police District were told the men had an argument before a 38-year-old man was punched in the face.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Cobar District Hospital with a broken jaw.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the assault to contact Cobar police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigations into the incident continue.
