September is Senior Center Month

September is Senior Center Month...and in recognition of the occasion, Mayor Alan Brundrett presented Azle Senior Center Director Jackie Joy with a proclamation recognizing the importance of the Center in the lives of Azle's older citizens. Mayor Brundrett and the City Council praised the outstanding efforts of the Azle Senior Center and Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers who work every day to change the perception of aging and create important community resources for older adults.

September 25, the Center will have special activities to celebrate this special month. (See the calendar for a list of the events.)

Azle Senior Center partners with Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County to operate the Center which is located in the B.J. Clark Building, 601 SE Parkway. They provide a variety of activities for seniors 60 years young and over. A nutritious lunch is served daily (menu). Please call 817-444-0070 for information about reservations. Activities at the center include arts and crafts, cards and games, exercise classes, entertainment by various bands, informational seminars and more - all offered free of charge!

Stop by the Center for a visit - we love to make new friends.
