AC Transit is proud to offer many different fare options to help riders get where they need to go. To make it even easier, AC Transit partners with Clipper to offer a variety of discount fares available on Clipper Cards.

The newest discount fare option is a means-based, single-ride discount for low-income riders. Those who qualify can get 50% off all AC Transit rides, including all rides on other transit agencies in the Bay Area.

To qualify for Clipper START and the 50% discount, you must be a resident of the Bay Area between 19-64 and have a household income of 200% of the federal poverty level or below.

If you think you qualify, apply online at clipperstartcard.com and provide proof of identity and income. Once approved, you will receive a personalized Clipper Card in the mail with your discount applied, ready to be used on AC Transit and other Bay Area transit agencies immediately.
