One Dead After Shooting in Topanga Area NR24272kt/rc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one person dead, and a second injured.

On September 28, 2024, around 11:50 p.m., Topanga area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 8300 block of Northgate Avenue. When officers arrived, they found two victims down at the location suffering from gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles Fire Department's paramedics responded and both victims were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. Despite life saving measures, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The second victim was treated and is in stable condition.

The deceased victim is described as a 19-year-old male Hispanic. His name is currently being withheld pending the notification to next of kin.

Detectives from Los Angeles Police Department's Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.
