Application Period Remains Open for Minor Home Repair Program Applications

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The application period for the City of Corpus Christi's Minor Home Repair Program (MHRP) is open for eligible applicants through Tuesday, October 22.

Forty-five very low-income senior, disabled, or veteran homeowners are eligible for grants of up to $25,000 for critical minor home repairs, including roofing, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, minor structural fixes, and accessibility modifications. The very low-income threshold for a one-person household is $27,650, and for a two-person household, it is $31,600. All eligible applications will be entered into a lottery.

"The online application is very simple, but if anyone needs help, staff are at the La Retama Central Library during library hours to provide in-person assistance in English and Spanish," said Jennifer White, Housing Program Coordinator of Planning and Community Development.

For homeowners concerned about wait times at the library, Tuesday will be the busiest day for in-person intakes, with shorter wait times on the weekend.

Applications must be completed online at www.cctexas.com/gmd.

Staff from the Planning and Community Department are available through October 22 at La Retama Central Library, located at 805 Comanche Street, for those needing assistance completing their application. Assistance is offered Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The library is closed on Mondays.

All applicants must bring a valid photo ID. The application and staff assistance are available in English and Spanish.
