In 1997, Bruce Myers created his first iconic public art piece, Leaf Legend, for the Discovery Park Visitor Center. Leaf Legend is atribute to the cycles of the forest, inspired by the natural world and reflects the spirit of the Discovery Park's programming. More than 25 years later, Myers is returning to Discovery Park to create a new artwork for the park.
The community will have the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops aimed at gathering stories, experiences, and dreams related to Discovery Park and the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center. These workshops will be a key influence in shaping his upcoming installation.
During this workshop, we will introduce concepts and directions for future artwork and discuss how the art ideas relate to the content of the Discovery Park Environmental Learning & Visitor Center.
