Update:

After lengthy negotiation attempts by the State Police Crisis Negotiations Unit and the Clinton County Sheriff's Department, the suspect, Tucker J. Hackett, age 30, of Beekmantown, NY, was taken into custody by the Tri-County SRT without incident and turned over to the State Police.

Hackett was transported to SP Plattsburgh for further questioning.

This investigation remains ongoing.

On August 8, 2024, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Troopers responded to Burke Road in the town of Beekmantown for a stabbing incident. Troopers arrived on the scene, and the suspect became a barricaded subject inside the residence. Troopers and Tri-County SRT, a special operations and tactical response unit consisting of officers from the Clinton County and surrounding Sheriff's Departments, established a safe perimeter around the residence.

The stabbed victim is at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital receiving medical attention.

State Police utilized CNU (Crisis Negotiation Unit), UAS (Unmanned Aerial System), and Bureau of Criminal Investigation assets in responding to this incident. They were assisted by the Tri-Country SRT (Special Response Team)
