City offices closed July 4, scheduled changes announced

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Offices and departments of the City of Muscatine will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in recognition and celebration of our nations' independence. There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Thursday (July 4), and no bulky waste collection on Thursday or Friday (July 4-5).

The Muscatine Fire Department, Muscatine Police Department, and MUSCOM will be staffed but administrative offices for each department will be closed on Thursday. Public Works will have "on-call" staff available as needed throughout the holiday period.

Departments and offices located at Muscatine City Hall and various other locations throughout Muscatine will be closed Thursday, but will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday.

• REFUSE COLLECTION - There will be no curbside refuse or yard waste collection on Thursday. Residents on the Thursday route will have their refuse collected on Friday along with the regular Friday route.
• RECYCLING COLLECTION - "Route B" collection will be picked up as usual on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. There will be no collection on Thursday with Thursday's route picked up Friday and Friday's route picked up on Saturday.
• BULKY WASTE COLLECTION - There will be no bulky waste collection on Thursday or Friday due to the double route refuse collection on Friday. For more information click on Bulky Waste.
• COMPOST FACILITY - The Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, but will be resume normal operations on Friday from 12-6 p.m. For more information click on Compost Facility.
