Ebensburg Homecoming Events – July 26 & 27

EBENSBURG DOWNTOWN SHUTDOWN & HOMECOMING WEEKEND EVENTS

Ebensburg - On Friday, July 26 & Saturday, July 27 Ebensburg Main Street Partnership will host their annual Downtown Shutdown and Homecoming celebration.

The weekend begins when the streets at the center of town close down at 6 pm to set up for a free concert that runs from 8 pm to 11 pm. This year's event will feature The Chris Higbee Band - a high-energy, country musician and expert fiddler. Many of the downtown shops and restaurants are planning specials, events and live music as well, so we encourage everyone to follow our website or Facebook page as we are always updating our schedule of events.

Saturday begins with a community-wide yard sale, a fishing derby at Lake Rowena, a Farmer's Market in Penn Eben Park, 5K & 15K at the Ghost Town Trail, Free Tennis Clinics at the Tennis Center and so much more. "There are a variety of different activities happening throughout the day and into the evening - it's an event that our community loves to celebrate!" said Danea Koss, Community Development Director. Yard Sale maps will be available the week prior at the Borough office, Ebensburg Library, and online at www.ebensburgmainstreet.com.

The Ebensburg Public Library will be hosting an outdoor book sale, yard sale, basket raffle and food sales.

Cambria Summit ABATE will return with a backpack give-a-way (while supplies lasts) at Lake Rowena Pavilion.

Baskets donated by the Main Street Partnership and local businesses for the Homecoming basket raffle will be on display at First National Bank at 111 W. High Street two weeks prior to the event. Anyone may purchase raffle tickets at the bank through Friday, the 27th, and then onsite at Lake Rowena beginning around 5 pm on Homecoming day.

Homecoming festivities will come to a close at Lake Rowena with food, fireworks and live music performance by METRO from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
