Update #16: City of St. Petersburg's Northeast Sewer Treatment Plant Back Online at Midnight

Sept. 27, 2024 - Restoration of the City of St. Petersburg's Northeast Sewer Treatment Plant (1160 62nd Ave. NE) is progressing and the facility will be back online at 12 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28. Residents and businesses in the impacted service area may resume normal use of the system at midnight. This means flushing toilets, taking showers, and doing laundry will be available to affected residents.

On Sept. 26, the City of St. Petersburg made the difficult decision to turn off power at the Northeast Sewer Treatment Plant to protect the plant from unprecedented storm surge. The City's plan to de-energize the plant before storm surge hit and re-energize it when conditions were safe has been successful.

What Residents & Businesses Need to Know

At midnight, Sept. 28, residents and businesses in the impacted service area can resume flushing toilets, taking showers, and doing laundry will be available to affected residents.
