Secretary Blinken’s Meeting with Head of Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council Leblanc Fils

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Edgard Leblanc Fils, the head of Haiti's Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), today in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Secretary Blinken highlighted the international community's support for the TPC as Haiti's presidential authority. He expressed gratitude to Leblanc for the TPC's diligent efforts to nominate and collaborate with Prime Minister Conille, as well as for the TPC's dedication to establishing a Provisional Electoral Council. Both concurred on the critical need to make timely advancements on election preparations. The Secretary reiterated that the TPC's efforts are crucial to enable the Haitian people to choose their leaders and to restore democratic governance in Haiti.
