A bevy of Vista Outdoor brands donated products for auction to benefit VCP, which provides housing and other support services for veterans.
The Bushnell team scored another hole-in-one with its annual golf tournament that raises money for Veterans Community Project. This year, the brand helped raise more than $25,000 for VCP, a nonprofit that provides housing and other support services for veterans.
The tournament, held Sept. 15 at Ironhorse Golf Club in Leawood, Kansas, featured 120 golfers, but the scorecards were much less important than the cause.
An auction held during the tournament featured items donated by Vista Outdoor brands (and other companies, as well), with the proceeds going to VCP. Bushnell, Camp Chef, QuietKat, Simms Fishing Products, Stone Glacier all provided items for auction.
According to Angela Baldwin, Executive Administrative Assistant, Bushnell, VCP is an organization worthy of our company's support because it offers individual housing and helps veterans live with dignity and safety free of charge.
"The village provides sanctuary and the emotional space needed to address the underlying causes of homelessness," said Baldwin, who has been spearheading the event for the last seven years. "VCP not only provides housing, clothing and medical, but they provide an individual case manager to help achieve incremental, lasting results in the areas of health and wellness, education, employment, financial literacy and the development of a personal support system. When the veteran is ready, VCP assists him or her with finding a permanent housing solution. Not only does the veteran take the entire contents of the house with them but they take an ongoing support of the village as well."
Vista Outdoor congratulates Bushnell on another successful event and thanks our brands for donating products that helped raise money for VCP.
