Hispanic Heritage Month - Teacher celebrates Hispanic heritage through music
Andrés Rodriguez, music teacher at Arturo Salazar Elementary School, wears many hats - teaching modern band, drumline, and coaching esports. As a professional musician, Rodriguez makes sure students are empowered by helping them learn about their rich cultural heritage, something that is very relevant at Salazar where the majority of students are Hispanic.

Translation Services supports multilingual families
In honor of International Translation Day, Dallas ISD celebrates its Translation Services department, the largest in-district translation team in the state. With 30 dedicated translators and interpreters, the team bridges communication between schools and multilingual families, providing support in 12 languages. Last year, the department facilitated over 20,000 parent interpretations and translated more than one million words. These efforts promote inclusivity and understanding, ensuring all families can engage with their children's education. Families can request services through their campuses.
