2024 General Election Sample Ballots - Available Online!

General Election

A General Election is the election in which federal and state officers, members of Congress and of the general assembly, county and township officers, and other officers appear on the ballot. General Elections are held the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November of each even-numbered year.

The general election is held in even-numbered years to elect federal and state officers, county and township officers, and other officers as provided by law. It is also held to decide public measures at the city and county level and vote on constitutional amendments.

Voter Registration

The voter pre-registration deadline is Monday, October 21 at 5 pm.

New registrants after the deadline, including on Election Day, will follow the Election Day Registration procedures. Proof of identity and proof of residence will be required.

Absentee Voting

By Mail: The first day we can begin accepting written applications/requests for absentee ballots is Tuesday, August 27. The first day that ballots will be mailed is Wednesday, October 16. The last day to request a mailed ballot is Monday, October 21, the original request must be received in the Auditor's Office by 5 pm that day. On the request form, mark "General" under the type of election.

In-Person: Voting in the Auditor's Office begins Wednesday, October 16, and will be available during regular business hours until 4:30 pm, on Monday, November 4. The Auditor's Office will also be open for In-Person Absentee Voting on Saturday, November 2, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.

All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 pm on Election Day to be considered on time to be counted.

Election Day Voting

The only way to vote on Election Day is by casting a vote at your assigned polling place between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm.
