American Institutes for Research Justice and Safety Experts to Share Rigorous, Evidence-Based Research and Practice at the 2024 American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting

Arlington, Va. - Justice and safety experts from the American Institutes for Research (AIR) will participate in the 2024 American Society of Criminology (ASC) Annual Meeting Nov. 13-16 in San Francisco. ASC is an international organization whose members pursue scholarly, scientific, and professional knowledge concerning the measurement, consequences, prevention, control, and treatment of crime and delinquency.

This year's conference theme, Criminological Research and Education Matters: People, Policy, and Practice in Tumultuous Times, aligns with AIR's commitment to conducting and disseminating credible research to address the most urgent challenges affecting the justice system. The conference also explores root causes of harm and trauma and supports equitable access to resources and opportunities that promote safety, dignity, and thriving.

AIR presentations will cover various topics, including juvenile mental health; the applications of criminological theory; and gendered aspects of reentry. AIR experts will also participate in the National Institute of Justice discussion on school safety strategies. The AIR Opportunity Fund will host a luncheon, along with a roundtable and a session discussing the role of data and evidence in reimagining public safety.
