Story County Welcomes New Information Technology

Story County is thrilled and excited to welcome aboard our new Information Technology Director, Joseph Wakeman.

Prior to joining Story County, Joe served as the Director of Technology and Communications for the Nevada Community School District for over 11 years. Prior to that, he has worked for Webster City Schools, University of Northern Iowa, and owned his own IT business.

He loves spending time outdoors - mowing, yard work, projects, pretending to be a farmer, anything! He likes to work on projects - from building decks or treehouses to fixing a 1920's engine!

Joe is married to his wife, Kristin, and together they two children - Zoey (10) and Lewie (8). They have a couple of dogs, cats, and a coop full of chickens!

"I am excited to join a great team to further having a positive impact on residents and visitors of Story County - directly and indirectly," Joe said.
