Transylvania welcomes new VP for information technology and chief information officer

Amanda Sarratore, an accomplished leader in educational IT, recently joined Transylvania University as vice president for information technology and chief information officer.

The former University of Notre Dame IT director and The Lexington School chief information officer brings with her a wealth of experience in all aspects of the field. This includes supporting academic excellence through integrating teaching with technology.

"Amanda will play a leading role in preparing our Pioneers for the 21st century workplace," President Brien Lewis said. "We welcome her creativity and expertise as we expand our technology services across campus through initiatives like our Digital Liberal Arts program and the library's new active learning classroom."

In addition to supporting cutting-edge academics, Transylvania's Office of Information Technology Services is responsible for a variety of campus tech needs - from door access to online grades to computer labs.

Now leading the office, Sarratore has a track record of implementing successful campus IT strategies, having served as IT director for Notre Dame's IDEA Center, School of Architecture and Keough School of Global Affairs, among other roles. She earned an executive MBA from Notre Dame and a BS in management from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

"I am honored to join the Transy community and am excited to work alongside our faculty and staff to deliver innovative and collaborative technology services that will empower our students and amplify the university's impact," Sarratore said.
