Night Lane Closures on Westbound, Eastbound Interstate 580 (I-580) for Paving Work on Richmond/San Rafael Bridge

Schedule: Work on Wednesday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 4

Contra Costa County and Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to start additional overnight paving work on both the upper and lower decks of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Wednesday, Oct. 2, through Friday Oct. 4.

Wednesday's and Thursday's work will focus on repaving the two left lanes on Eastbound Interstate 580 (I-580). Work will continue Friday where both Eastbound and Westbound directions of the bridge will be under construction for paving.

Westbound I-580 will have the second lane closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and the Eastbound direction will have the far two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next mornings.

Speed limit signs will be posted as 40 mph in construction areas.

Weekend work is not scheduled. All work is dependent on weather.

Caltrans will turn on Changeable Message Signs (CMS) to notify the public ahead of time.
