The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of an injury collision at the intersection of 72nd Avenue SE and State Highway 9 at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 30.
The initial investigation indicates that a school bus was traveling southbound on 72nd Avenue SE preparing to continue south across State Highway 9 when it failed to yield and pulled out in front of a vehicle traveling westbound on State Highway 9. The driver of the school bus was cited at the scene.
The two occupants of the westbound vehicle were transported to a local hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries. One juvenile occupant of the school bus was transported to a local hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.
The other juvenile occupants of the school bus were either picked up by a parent/guardian or transitioned to another bus to be taken to school.
State Highway 9 was reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately 45 minutes.
