City of Tacoma Observes Christmas Day December 25 and New Year's Day January 1

City of Tacoma Observes Christmas Day December 25 and New Year's Day January 1

TACOMA, Wash. -- City of Tacoma administrative offices are closed on December 25 and January 1 in observance of Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

The Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen St.), including the Recycle Center and Household Hazardous Waste Facility, will be closed on December 25 and January 1. There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard/food waste curbside collection on those days. All curbside collection throughout the rest of those weeks will occur one day later, with Friday curbside collection occurring on Saturday. Information specific to a customer's address can be found at cityoftacoma.org. The Recycle Center does not accept wrapping paper and is asking residents to dispose of these items in their green garbage container.

All Tacoma Public Library locations will be closed December 24, 25, and January 1.


There will be no parking enforcement by City staff on December 25 and January 1.
