State Police arrested a woman from Chester, NY for DWI following ...

On August 4, 2024, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Troopers from the Haverstraw barracks were contacted by Rockland County 911 for a hit and run incident that occurred on the Palisades Interstate Parkway northbound near exit 10 in the town of Haverstraw. A Trooper located the vehicle, a gray 2009 Honda traveling north near exit 13. The Trooper initiated a traffic stop and the operator of the vehicle failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated. The Trooper was assisted by a Rockland County Sheriff Deputy. The vehicle was subsequently stopped in the town of Highlands. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Dysmairy DeJesus, age 34 from the town of Chester. While being interviewed by the Trooper, it was determined that she was impaired by alcohol and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Fleeing. Additional investigation revealed that DeJesus sideswiped a 2020 Honda and fled the scene. She was additionally charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. During the investigation, it was discovered that DeJesus is a sergeant with the New York City Police Department

She was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Highlands Court on September 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
