Tillis Announces $8.8 Million for Asheville Regional Airport Expansion

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Thom Tillis announced a $8,856,174 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to construct 2,110 square feet of the north concourse expansion that will expand the existing terminal and accommodate more passengers at Asheville Regional Airport. All funding comes directly from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), which Senator Tillis helped negotiate, write, and pass into law.

"This funding will be used to continue the much-needed expansion at AVL to accommodate more passengers coming to Western North Carolina," said Senator Tillis. "I am proud to have helped author and pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which made this project and other critical infrastructure projects like it possible."
