UDOT to close ramp from westbound US 40 to westbound I 80 for up to three weeks

Several projects will close lanes that drivers need to be aware of

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) recommends drivers plan ahead for a long-term freeway ramp closure in Park City.

Crews will close the westbound US-40 to westbound I-80 ramp for up to 21 days beginning this Sunday, September 15, at 6 a.m. for repaving work. During this time, crews will excavate the area, import new road base and pave the ramp that connects westbound US-40 and I-80.

Motorists can still access westbound I-80 by proceeding to the signalized intersection on US-40.

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.

UDOT has several other projects drivers should plan ahead for over the next week:

  • Legacy Parkway at Parrish Lane: the southbound Legacy Parkway on- and off-ramps at Parrish Lane will be closed Friday, Sept. 13 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. while crews repave the highway.
  • I-215 eastbound near Foothill Drive and 3300 S: expect lane closures and intermittent ramp closures as the lane striping crew installs new wider lane markings designed for high visibility and reflectivity. The crew will work overnight starting at 9 p.m. The lane striping crew will move to SR-201 next week.
  • Ogden Canyon: SR-39 in Ogden Canyon will be closed Monday, Sept. 16, and Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. while crews continue work installing new safety enhancements in the canyon (including a new centerline rumble strip and new barrier along the river). Drivers should use alternate routes like Trappers Loop during this time.
